About NTTI
Background
The National Telecommunication & Technology Institute (NTTI), established in 1974 under the Ministry of Communications and Technology (MoCT) and guided by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), is Somalia’s premier institute for ICT education, skills development, and capacity building.
NTTI has trained over a thousand technicians and engineers who now lead the telecommunications and ICT sectors, significantly contributing to national development. The institute remains a strategic driver of Somalia’s ICT readiness and public sector digital transformation.
The Mandate: The mandate of the NTTI is to build human and institutional capacity in order to improve skills in the development and use of telecommunication/ICT networks and applications, and to promote digital inclusion for people with special needs through awareness raising and training activities. The mandate is espoused in the Vision and Mission statements below:
